I like your "meet a puppy" cartoon. It reminded me that an English newspaper stated, a couple of years ago, that more English men would rather pat a labrador than Kylie Minogue's bottom.

And regarding Hemingway, who was it who said that Hemingway would be a great writer "if only he could come out from behind the hair on his chest"?

Hi Joan,

Delightful cartoon. Reminds me of an unlikely year long ago when Tabby Cat Food decided to use me to promote their product using cat astrology, just after having been bought by Lipton. They actually funded feline birth data research so I could say something definitive on the subject, even published a booklet to go with the promotions, but the first public appearance reminds me of that cartoon. No one cared about the stars -- they were cat-lovers. From that point on, I brought along my purebred Himalayan cat Murphy every time, and was always mobbed. Sold a LOT of cat food...

Winds, skies,

I love the story! The icing on the cake, of course, would be to learn that Murphy got his picture on a can of cat food.

Did you ever see the Sex & the City episode (The Big Journey) where Carrie is having a book signing in San Francisco and is upstaged by a book signing for Mr. Winkle a drooling Pomeranian? The cartoon is just like that episode!
